Day 2 Itinerary

Explore the Pyramids of Giza & the Sphinx

  • Start off at the Pyramid of Djoser (the step pyramid). This pyramid is known as one of the first to be built in ancient Egypt. It has a distinctive step or layered design. Next to it, you will find Saqqara Necropolis Temple which is an interesting area to walk through.

  • Next head to The Great Sphinx. The iconic sphinx is over 4,500 years old & has a human face on a lion's body. Tickets can be purchased at the entry point.

  • Grab lunch with a view at Abou Shakra. The food here is good but most come for the unbeatable view of the pyramids and sphinx.

  • Next, the Pyramids of Giza. Today you get to spend time at the oldest, and only remaining Wonder of the Ancient World. Tickets can be purchased at the entrance for both the exterior and interior. There is not much to see inside the pyramids here, not even hieroglyphics on the walls. However, many people still pay to go inside for the experience. To see a distance view of the pyramids, head to Panorama Point. At this point, as well as everywhere around the pyramids, you can pay for a camel ride. Tip: Beware of scammers. It is common for scammers to promise you free photos, free camel rides, etc. Nothing is free at the pyramids and by accepting the offer, the scammers will expect payment from you.
