Guide to Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs is a small town, 1.5 hours drive, south of Denver. From caves and waterfalls to mountain peaks and rocky gardens, there’s so much natural beauty to see here.

1) Garden of the Gods

Garden of the Gods is a natural wonder composed of rugged, red rock cliffs. There is a paved path that takes you up close to these rock formations, and there are even spots to climb the rocks. 2) Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

This beautiful mountainside conservation park is best known for its giraffes and baby kangaroos. It houses one of the largest giraffe herds in the world and allows guests to feed and interact with them. In addition to their giraffe’s, the zoo is also home to 700+ other animals. 3) Seven Falls

Seven Falls is a series of seven cascading waterfalls that can be seen from several vantage points. See the falls at the base or hike up the 224 step staircase to reach the top of the falls and view it from above. Tickets are needed for access and can be purchased here. Tip: Go in the evening as the falls are lit up once it gets dark.

4) Cave of the Winds

This is a beautiful, natural cave formation that is millions of years old. Cave of the Winds offers daily, guided tours that can be booked here.

5) Manitou Incline

The Manitou Incline is a challenging, 2,000 ft. uphill hike. The Incline is just under one mile in length but with 2,768 steps, it can be quite intense. Trail requires a free reservation to enter and reservation can be booked here. Find more information about hiking the trail here.

6) Royal Gorge Bridge & Park

This spot isn’t quite in Colorado Springs but is about an hour drive from there. The park offers beautiful canyon views spanned by one of the highest suspension bridges in the world. Additionally, Royal Gorge provides train tours along the Arkansas River. Train tours can be booked here and park access to view the bridge can be booked here.
