Things To Do In And Around Denver

1) Paddle Board/Kayak on the Chatfield Reservoir

Go paddle boarding or kayaking on the Chatfield Reservoir, about 40 min outside of Denver. Bring your own equipment or book an excursion through the Denver Outdoor Adventure Company. Tip: Go at sunset.

2) South Pearl Street Market

There are several great summer markets around Denver but this is one of my favorites. This outdoor market has food vendors, produce, art, plants, coffee, and more. 3) Go Horse Back Riding at 12 Mile Stables

Only 30 minutes from Denver, 12 Mile Stables is a horse back riding company located by Cherry Creek State Park. Its a great way to get out of the city and do something outdoors. Tip: Go at sunset. Get tickets here.

4) Visit the Denver Botanic Gardens

The Denver Botanic Gardens are beautiful in every season. In the spring-summer you can find the grounds full of beautifully landscaped flowers and plants. In the winter, the garden hosts the Blossoms of Light event, illuminating the whole grounds with magical lights. Get tickets here.

5) Visit Washington Park

This charming neighborhood park is full of beautiful gardens and has 2 lakes. It’s perfect for sports, running, bike rides, picnics, and relaxing. When the weather is nice, you can rent tandem bikes and paddle boats in the park here.

6) See A Show At Red Rocks

Red Rocks Amphitheatre is an iconic, open air concert venue about 30 min outside of Denver. It’s the perfect place for a concert, movie, hike, yoga class, and more. View their calendar of events here.

7) Explore Downtown Denver

Take a walk down the 16th Street Mall in the heart of downtown Denver. Make sure to stop at Union Station and Larimer Square, some of the most historic and iconic spots in the city. Stop and grab a drink at one of the many great downtown bars, I’ve included my favorites here.

8) Meow Wolf Convergence Station

Immersive, walk-through art experience with many interactive rooms, whimsical sculptures and fantastical architecture. Plan to spend around 2-3 hours exploring this amazing exhibit. Book tickets in advance here.

9) The Beer Spa

The Beer Spa is a unique spa experience. The spa offers a private sauna, private hot tub infused with hops, and a beer wall with several local beers on tap. It’s the perfect way to relax and destress. Find out more and book here.

10) Arts & Crafts + Drinks at Upstairs Circus

Upstairs Circus is a whimsical arts & crafts bar offering great drinks and a variety of project options. Each project comes with a set of instructions and plenty of art supplies. Reservations are recommended and can be made here.

11) Goat Yoga

This one might sound weird, but goat yoga can be quite the experience. It’s less about the yoga and more letting goats climb on your back but is nonetheless a hilarious class. The class is offered through Rocky Mountain Goat Yoga and tickets can be purchased here. If goat yoga is not your thing, they also offer hiking with the goats & goatflix & chill.

12) Ceramics in the City

DIY pottery shop offering pottery wheel classes, pottery painting, and hand clay building. Check it out here.

13) Urban Putt

Indoor mini golf course/bar in downtown Denver. You can walk in anytime and they offer two different courses. Learn more here.

14) Afternoon Tea at the Brown Palace Hotel

The Brown Palace Hotel is a historical hotel in the heart of downtown Denver. It’s been open since 1892 and has a beautiful & elegant interior. The hotel offers daily afternoon tea which includes a spread of light bites and live piano music. Reservations are needed in advance and can be made here.
