Guide to Glenwood Springs

Iron Mountain Hot Springs

This is my personal favorite hot springs in Glenwood. The springs are situated within the mountains and overlook the Colorado River. It’s made up of 16 individual small pools and 1 large pool, with slightly cooler temperatures. Tickets are $28 per person and can be purchased here. Tip: bring your own towel as they cost $5 per towel to purchase on site.

Hanging Lake Hike

Hanging Lake is the most iconic hike in Glenwood Springs. This moderate, 3.1 mile hike takes you along the river and ends at a gorgeous lake. Due to the popularity of this hike, a permit is required and should be obtained in advance. Get permit here.

Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park

This theme park is located right in the mountains of Glenwood Springs. It offers gondola rides, cave tours, and several rides including the canyon swing, mine drop, and alpine rollercoaster. It’s a fun place to spend a day and catch some gorgeous mountain views. Get tickets here.

Rifle Falls State Park

This beautiful waterfall isn’t quite in Glenwood Springs but is only a 45 minute drive from there. The view below is a short, easy walk from the parking lot. Optionally, visitors can walk the trail on the side of the falls to get an overhead view and find cave formations in the rocky cliffs.
