Sea Lion Caves
The Sea Lion Caves are a wildlife preserve off the coast of Oregon. It’s America's largest sea cave and is a year-round nesting location for hundreds of Sea Lions. Depending on the season, you will find the Sea Lions in the cave or resting on the coastline. Tickets are $14 and can be purchased on site. For fewer crowds and shorter wait times, it’s highly recommended to arrive right when they open at 9:00 AM. There are bathrooms and free parking provided on site.
Thor’s Well & Seal Rock
The drive from Sea Lion Caves to Newport is along the coast and includes several great stopping points along the way, such as Thor’s Well and Seal Rock. Thor’s Well is a collapsed sea cave that allows ocean water to ebb and flow onto the rocky coastline. Seal Rock is a good place to stop for a walk around sandy beaches with beautiful coastline scenery.
