Lion King Adventures Private Safari

We booked our Tanzanian Safari through a company called Lion King Adventures. We had a great experience working with them and they organized everything so well. Safari’s have three comfort levels, basic, mid-range, and luxury. We chose the mid-range option which included glamping style accommodations within the wildlife parks. The tented camps we stayed in were wonderful with private/attached bathrooms, hot running water, full beds, and gorgeous views. The food was also excellent. The company handled every detail of the trip which made booking the safari a very simple and smooth experience. Our guide was so knowledgeable and worked hard to help us find all the animals we wanted to see.

The total price for 2 people for a 6 day safari came out to $5,000. This included all meals, accommodations, transport, a private safari vehicle, a 24/7 guide. Flights are not included in this price. Full details on price breakdown and the 6 day itinerary can be found at the link below. While this trip was one of our most expensive we’ve taken, the experience is absolutely incredible and well worth it. You will see hundreds of unique animal species up close and in the wild. Check out the photo gallery below to to see some of the animals we encountered during our stay.

We added one additional experience on through Lion King Adventures and this was a visit to a Maasai Village. The Maasai are native people living in Tanzania and are well known for their traditional ways of living that have not changed for generations. For more information on the Maasai, click here. For an additional fee, Lion King Adventures will take you to visit one of these villages and meet the people who live there and learn about their way of life. Keep in mind when visiting, you are strongly encouraged to buy local crafts and make a donation to the local school. Come prepared with questions to ask! Upon arrival, you get to watch a Maasai dance performance which was amazing to witness. This is a bit pricey and a somewhat touristy excursion but well worth the visit, there is really nothing else like it.
